Pasar Malam Delights

Daddy bought a couple of food from the regular night market near our residential area the other day....
Assam Laksa....Mum had a sudden craving for Laksa the other day...probably she's starting to miss the Penang Food again...haha; she did mention something about Or Chien (Fried Oyster):p
Big chunks of fish meat with the prawn paste used to cook the broth.....and also topped with some kaffir leaves aka Daun Limau Purut:)
Somehow this seems to be the local delights here in Malaysia; with variations in the style in different states; such as Penang, Johor, Melaka and Sarawak. Guess that's the best part about staying in a multi-racial and cultured country:)
And this is something new which Mum and Dad discovered; the Salad Popiah.
It is actually just like the normal popiah except that the ingredients; namely the vegetables in it are raw and sliced finely and then they just added chilli sauce (optional) and mayonaise (salad dressing) in it.
An innovation to the conventional popiah and definitely save a lot of effort in cooking the ingredients in preparation of the popiah:p
Ingredients were the sweet corn, mengkuang, carrot, lettuce and also some fritters.
Not bad....pretty healthy:)
