Tried out this traditional style steamboat near the Waterfall Gardens - Gottlieb Road; can't remember the name....some Chinese name with the -Kee suffix (they usually like it for Chinese).
Think it was Kam Kee or something; just next to Little Cottage 2 :)
It was practically empty and this was the place where you had to select the food - served in dishes.
Unlike KL, most of the steamboat here only offer 1 type of soup; either you opt for the clear soup or tomyam; not partitioning of your soup:p
Since it was only 2 of us, we ordered minimal dishes - fishballs, fish slices, squid balls, napa cabbage, seaweed, a leafy vege (Tang Oh) which was one of favourite!
I ordered the soursop drink - hmmmm, tasted really bad for a first experience:(
1. TOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
2. The soursop looked yellow - wondering whether it came from an expired can....yikes!!!!
These were our food; fish slices
Vege
Boiling HOT now....
Overall, not bad - you do not waste too much food but pricey - think most people will still go for the buffet style where you get to choose from a large variety.
Here, they charge about min Rm3 for the items you order (depending on the item:)
Total about RM30++ ....but overall, environment was not too bad.....and we did come back for 2-3 more times:D
