Food Pics from Korea(Day1)

I have actually posted food pics along with my travel stories in my travel blog
Since this is my food blog, I will grant it the privilege to hold food pics here as well...hehe:)
Now....let's look at the daily diets in Korea...

Buffet breakfast upon arrival in Seoul; after checking into the hotels...
We decided to have a light meal and proceeded to the cafe in the hotel ground floor.
They were still serving the buffet breakfast....but we have only 15 minutes left...so these were the food we took....

There were smoked salmon, fish and also some Korean style dumplings...(this is an International buffet anyway:)

Soo Fung (my colleague) took some dumplings and pancake; and proceeded to take some porridge, seaweed, miso soup, noodles and kimchi:)

We met up with our 2 other colleagues, Hooi Li and Jesline...and went to Namdaemun Market.
Stop by a shop for their lunch...and this is what they ordered
Knife-cut noodles....
The soup was slightly spicy...Soo Fung seemed to like the taste of the soup

Was actually hand made noodles....rather thick...

As usual, Korean meals always start with appetizers..

Jesline's order....Sen Zhi Tang (translated as Ginseng Chicken Soup)

It was tasteless...and Hooi Li renamed it to Sen Jing Tang (insane ginseng soup)..haha!
They gave the whole chicken...

Jesline wanted to have some rice; there was congee stuffed inside the chicken...but it was too little; so they ended up feasting on the chicken...funnier was when they mixed the soup with the hot chilli paste for more taste:D

But I just found out that this is an exquisite delicacy fancied by the higher society; it's actually Sumgyetang....boiled chicken in ginseng soup and one of the best places was actually in Myeong Dong (the fashion street in Korea)
I was just busy laughing while they strive to finish it...:p

The front view of the shop's entrance (my friends were at the counter, paying up)

The cooking was done outside the shop

Ahjima hard at work; she's cooking the soup now...(she's the one kneading the dough for the noodles...strong:)

After some shopping spree and sightseeing, the girls were hungry and wanted an early dinner so that they can go back to the hotel and rest early.
So we had dinner at this place in the Lotte Mart...and exclusive restaurant (but we will be pooling our allocated budget, so we have more than enough to spare on food:)

They ordered the Seafood Fried Rice

Fraud...only baby octopus and shrimps...not seafood...(do they understand the definition of seafood? It means variety lar...)

According to them, the fried rice was nice (I am only interested in taking pics)

Soup that came with the rice

Seafood spaghetti...with garlic bread on top...
Normal..also only baby octopus and 2 big prawns

I forgot 1 more pic of the last dish; it was spicy octopus served with white rice...
Nothing special; similar to Malaysian's version of Sambal sotong...hehe
I don't really fancy octopus; they freak me out...I prefer squids:)
