Finally, we get to try out the much buzzed about new happening place in Penang; Chilli's in Gurney Plaza....
Not like we don't have them in KL; but since this is the first outlet in Penang, it was worth a try...
And since we were planning to watch Transformers on Saturday, we decided to have an early lunch before our movie:)
Hehe...some pics of the restroom....haha, black concept...
Okay, this is so inappropriate....pics of restrooms in a food blog??
No no no....Angelstar....
Okay, back to the restaurant...this is actually a food chain outlets originating from the United States...an Americanized diner.
According to DearDear, it's just a middle range diner in the States but somehow, it's so idolized over here that it's more of a fine dining place...haha:p
In fact, there's at least (read that, AT LEAST) one outlet in every street, and it's the same for TGIF and other fast food outlets.
And here, it's like...hmmm, so rare and so unique:D
Oh well, we are Malaysians right...and we do see Nasi Kandar everywhere and mamak stalls too....bet they don't have that in other countries:D
I patronized this place not so long ago in KL early this year; think was a meeting with Nick....and we ended up in Chilli's 1U where he popped a balloon there..haha...hilarious story:p
Interior design of this place
The country western inspired design:)
The view of the patio
Same tiled table...hehe, their trademark
Unique aluminium rooftop with lighting
Ordered the Fresh Guava juice...RM7.95
Pretty nice and thick....big mug huh? American sized...:p
My Firecracker Fish Fillet...RM28.95
Whoa....spicy sauce but rather nice:)
DearDear's order...the Tequila Lime Fish Fillet (I ordered this before in the 1U outlet:)
RM28.95 too...somehow this one tastes nicer than the one in 1U...
See, I am not biased towards KL; I also say just words:)
However, perhaps the outlet in 1U was pretty packed that time, thus the slip in the chef's skills...haha:)
Very fresh and nicely grilled fish fillet...
I love the generous serving of the fresh vege; all my favourites!!
Cauliflowers, broccoli, and carrots...yumz!!
Being Asian, they serve rice...
But DearDear said they do the same in US....
Oh ya, in US, Chilli's is famous for the Baby back ribs...(Pork) Non-halal....
Anyway, I will definitely come back; it's a rather nice environment and food quality was not bad:)
Price wise; maybe higher lar:)
But worth it due to the portion:)
