Dinner in Seoul

Our last night in Seoul city!!
After a tiring journey from Daejeon and checking in back to Hilton, we made our way downtown to Insadong Market and had our dinner there:)

Arthur found this little shop which was quite unique (looked like an old English/American cabin like hut) - which serves fish (for me)...so thoughtful of him:)

Plain soup...served with baby octopus again, hand made noodles and some shell stuffs

Arthur ordered this; fish with hot chilli paste (for me)

Darn spicy though...:p (Drowned lots of water down)
** Koreans do not order other drinks; every restaurant only serves you plain water by default, think customers need to specifically request for it:)**

Bibimbap

After a round of syabu syabu the night before, we were treated to lunch by our host at their cafeteria on the 2nd day(also our last day).
This time I was bolder; decided to ignore the stares; just yanked my camera out of my handbag and snapped pics of the food...
Today they served us Bibimbap; a traditional Korean food which is served with rice and an assortment of vegetables on top of the rice. The unique part is that it is served in a bowl made of mortar which is really hot....

See, there's a sunny side up of egg there and there's loads of vege; such as bean sprouts, carrot strips, bell pepper strips, leafy vege, some minced meat, etc...

It was already a very big bowl and they still serve us side dishes

Top Left; some pork ribs; then a slice of pumpkin topped with red dates with honey (unique), their famous pancake(different from those they serve in Malaysia which consists only of flour. This was actually sort of an omelette with vege and shrimps which they call their Korean pancake - forgot the name), a bowl of cold seaweed soup and hot red chilli paste.

After the scrumptious lunch, they served us this drink...(looks like barley to me...I saw this in Namdaemun Market the day before and we thought it was barley drink)

Tasted sweet...it was actually rice drink....served with some seeds...

Tasted like barley also; I guess this has a cooling effect...

(They served us Korean ginseng tea on the first day....also very nice:)

Shabu shabu (Day 2)

*Sobs* I was so shy to take pics of the lunch provided by our business partners....it was nice by the way, and I kinda regretted it:(
We were invited for dinner with them after work...and they brought us to Shabu shabu in Daejeon town
*I thought Shabu shabu was popular only in Japan?

Anyway, nothing special...just some normal steamboat...
Look at the pics and you will know

The people here are weird.; they cook it and then serve you and pile everything into your bowl; without asking whether you want that much of a portion or not...*frustrating*

Look at how much they piled into my little bowl!!! *Grrrr*

Sorry, forgot the pics of the seafood which was cooked before the beef; the waitress shocked me by another load into my plate...
Anyway, the seafood here also scared me; looks weird...I only dared to try the steamed scallops...the rest; are too humongous and monstrous shell food:p

Like I said...nothing special right?
Even Jesline said that our local steamboat (or homecooked) is much much better:p
