Food, drinks and fun on Sunday

Last Sunday night, dinner was with a bunch of friends cum ex-colleagues at Station One, Queensbay Mall to celebrate a friend's birthday as well as catching up with each other after some time.

Honestly, this is my first visit to this chain cafe outlet although they seemed to be hitting it everywhere in town and their presence is constantly publicized through the radio commercials. I used to think that they were no different from any of those coffee shops turned bistro cafes or something along that line, but I was amazed with the wide variety they have on their menu as I was browsing through the pages.

I love the bottles used to serve the large-sized juices/drinks (MYR6.90)



(I am always fascinated with bottles like these, or large jars :-)

The food; Grilled Fish Fillet (MYR26.90)




Portion was a little lesser than what I would have expected for the price charged, to be frank.

Overall the food, was just average for my personal tastes but hey, the day is not about me as it was more of a gathering and also, the objective is to celebrate our old friend's birthday, so here comes the Tiramisu cake which we surprised him with

A post which I had nothing much to write about as the photos are just what meet the eyes and they are nothing that rank that high on my preferences list so I let the photos do the talking and focus on the mood of the celebration/gathering :-)

Sponge Fruit Cake Birthday Cake (Part 2 from previous post)

Continuing from the previous post where I was enjoying my tea/dinner party or gathering with my friends as I was led to believe, I was suddenly surprised when my friend pushed my tea cup away and then put down a cake before me!

It was a mini sponge fruit cake, topped with my favorite fruit; strawberries!:)


It was really a lovely surprise, and I am just so happy and blessed to be surrounded by all wonderful surprises for my birthday this year!:)


The cake was a soft sponge cake with layers of whipped cream and fresh fruits like peaches, lychess adorned with fresh strawberries and strips of white chocolate on the top.

It didn't matter what cake it was, as I have mentioned, as my happiness clouded my vision of everything that I see!


I am just so happy and surprised at the same time, that my friends, despite their busy schedule, still found time to buy me a cake, arrange the gathering and rushed to celebrate me right after work.

It really brings a new meaning in friendship and also my birthday and have I mentioned, how much I really love my birthday?:)

To many many more good years and birthdays to come!:)

Belated Tea/Dinner Birthday Party

Yeah, yet another birthday-related post, but this is the last, really, I promise :)
My lovely girl friends, or soul sisters decided to give me a surprise birthday party by calling for a last minute dinner gathering last Friday.

Notice that I mentioned Tea/Dinner party, although this is really dinner but look at all the photos later and you will understand why :)

The celebration was arranged at one of my favorite places; Winter Warmers.

Now, I am sure you still remember me posting about this places on numerous occasions as I have raved about their dainty tea sets they used to serve their tea and beverages.
I just love the English country garden concept used in the overall interior design of the coffee house.


I love capturing the photos of all the tea sets, teapots, tea cups :)

I ordered the Iced Hawaii Fruit Cocktail (MYR9.90)

It came with a jug containing the iced fruit cocktail juice, with a few bits of apple on the top.

There are meal sets available; and a few of them ordered the sets which came with a drink, salad and a dessert.

BBQ Gathering and Trio January Birthday Celebration

My favorite month and the start of the year, and it makes it all the better when I share my birthday month with so many lovely friends and also, great celebrities and leaders:)
(Hehe, obsession:p )

Anyway, for the first time this year, my friends and I planned to meet up for a gathering and to celebrate our birthdays together. We made attempt to arrive from different destinations and the plan was a rather shaky one as some almost could not make it, but in the end, we were glad that all made it!:D

It was a coincidence that my best friend, or soul sister whom I share my birth date (and year!) was also moving into a new house and it was somewhat of a housewarming party as well.


After a few rounds of discussions and ideas pooling, it was decided on a BBQ party despite the humid January weather.


It was all in the name of fun, catching up and just being with each other that it no longer mattered what we were celebrating about.

To be honest, I am not really a big fan of BBQ, as it is time consuming, hot, and the food end us looking burnt:p
Anyway, as I have mentioned, it was all in the name of the fun with friends and I had so much fun with everyone:)
