KL Food!!

Now a little bit more on KL Food as well...hahaha....after all, KL city is not to be dwarfed by the little northern island in terms of culinaries as well...right, KL-lians? :p
A quick list of KL food that I can think of off the top of my mind now(not in KL and I seldom eat; not exactly a food fan mar:p )
1. Yong Tau Foo- Yes, this is the most famous one in KL; everytime a relative comes down to KL when I was young, mum and dad will definitely bring them to try out the Yong Tau Foo. It is different from the others; however, now yong tau foo seemed to have mushroomed all over the country. Originated from the Hakka clan; this was actually vegetables stuffed with fish paste. The set usually includes red chillies, brinjals, white bean curd, lady fingers, and bitter gourd.
There's also fried dumplings(sui Kow), fish cake, fish balls and the fried rolled bean curd sheet with fish paste.
Famous ones in KL:
a. Ampang Yong Tau Foo - haha, I remember dad used to bring us there when I was younger with the relatives. Can't remember exactly where; but any KL-lian can tell you...I think there's a few outlets there as well. Anyway, it is no longer so famous or unique anymore since there's Yong Tau Foo everywhere:p
There is one by this blogger; Foong Foong Yong Tau Foo
b. Ipoh Road Yong Tau Foo - I think they have since moved to other locations around in KL; couple of branches here and there:p
c. Another one in Peel Road, Cheras

2. Pan Mee - this is a flat and thick mee version of the normal wantan mee. You can have it the dry version (kolo) or the soup. It is quite famous in KL as well:)
a. Jalan Conlay
b. Restoran Kin Kin at Jalan Tunku Abdul Rahman
(need to find out more...I am not a Pan Mee eater:p )
3. Bak Kut Teh- haha, you can see this everywhere. It used to be popular in Klang; but now I think it's everywhere in KL. In fact, in Kepong alone, there's like so many BKT stalls....
Ooooh, there is a new chain of Bak Kut Teh outlet; seen them in Jusco Metro Prima....Mmm, Yum Yum Bak Kut Teh

4. Wanton Mee - this is also better here in KL compared to the ones elsewhere....not sure lar according to your taste buds; as long as you don't start a food fight here (whichever state you come from:p )
5. Yee Mee - Cantonese style fried mee; also popular in KL:)

6. Fried mee (any style) - yeaps, any style of mee you want; Cantonese style fried (yee mee, ee foo mee), Hokkien style (Fukien Chow), they are all not bad and can be found in any stalls/restaurants as long as you see those woks:p

7. Tai Chow- Undoubtedly, KL still has the best variety for Tai Chow dishes compared to elsewhere; currently comparing to Penang:p There's anything; as long as you can name it, they will cook it for you...hehehe....now what say you?

8. Singapore Style Fried BeeHoon - Ho, this is definitely only renowned in the city...everywhere else, I think they taste distinctly different.

9. Nasi Lemak - the local Malaysian breakfast....definitely popular everywhere but KL seems to have the most of it:)

You can also find a couple of places which are famous for this; let me post them the next round after my research ya;)
Hungry? Salivating dy?
Hahaha.....look out for more food pics on KL once I get back soon during Christmas:)
Stay tune....
