Mizi Bistro @ New World Park

I must be the latest addition to the list of bloggers who have already tried and talked about this place.
Located in the New World Park food complex, this is an American-styled restaurant cum bistro which serves value worth set lunches and dinners.

The interior of the place looked really simple in an American bar or diner kind of way.

They even have a bar

I was there for dinner; and they serve set dinners priced at RM19.90 which comes with a soup of your choice, a main course, a drink, and of course, dessert.
The interesting part of their set dinner which set them apart from the other western-food outlets is the option of the drinks and even the soup where you can select from a list of more than 5 for your preferred choice.

The others, on the contrary typically pre-sets the soup and the drink if you were to opt for the set meal.

You can choose your drink which includes peach tea, lemon tea, blackcurrant juice, orange juice, mango juice and green tea.

I call that a lot of choices; for a western set dinner.

We ordered our orange and mango juice

Now, can you tell me which is which?:p

They use porcelain bottles for the salt and pepper which was placed at the side of the table

There are these beautifully carved tiles embedded within the wall in a rather rhythmic pattern along the wall.

I ordered the Organic Pea Soup

It was one of the soup which left a rather memorable taste on my taste buds.
Being a non-soup person, I have to say this soup was rather nice for my liking; and it was light tasting with a hint of crushed and grinded peas in the soup. The croutons were also blended to create that thick paste-like texture in the liquid soup.
Hosted by RockYouPhotos.com
The best part of the soup was the really light taste which indicated the light touch of flavoring or conditioning ingredients, such as additives, salt, etc which made it a more enjoyable start for a meal.

The mushroom soup, which was the most praised soup by most bloggers turned out to have that same effect on us.

This is the first mushroom soup I tasted in a simple bistro which had a stronger taste of mushroom instead of cream.
This is the best mushroom soup I've tasted and it even had actual thinly sliced button mushrooms in it!~

For the main course, we can choose from almost the entire menu except from the Chef's Specialties which will incur an additional RM6 to the set.
We can choose from the poultry, pasta, seafood, chicken as our main course.

Being seafood lovers, we chose from the seafood menu of course.
Seafood A'la King, however, turned out different from our expectation

The 'seafood', consisting of little shrimps, fish fillets cut up in smaller chunks, mussels, and cuttle fish were all served in the counts of more than one and in thick yellow gravy.
The gravy was slightly spicy and had a hint of melted cheese in its taste.

This was served with a small serving of rice and a side portion of fresh and boiled vegetables; cauliflower, broccoli and carrots.
The rice went well with the really creamy and thick gravy, kinda balanced the taste in your mouth.
It is originally priced at RM14 if you were to order it off the menu in ala carte way.

This is the Fish fillet ala Vera Cruz style.

The fish fillet was slightly pan fried before being served with the thick puree of tomato sauce.
They put effort into making this gravy which had a really strong taste of tomato puree and it was cooked with the extra ingredients; such as cubed capsicums, carrots, mushrooms and onions thrown into the sauce.

This is a view of the fish; the snapper-like fillet which was generously served in a portion for two.

We were already stuffed by the time we were done with our dinner.
Dessert is DIY, where they serve free ice cream from the ice-cream bar near the main entrance to the bistro

Imagine, it's included in the set but you can still help yourself to an ice cream dessert buffet after your meal!~

For a simple dinner for 2, it only costed RM43 including taxes.
I must say their service was really great (or was it the camera thing again, as all the bloggers mentioned?)
Also, I've listed this place as one of my favorite place for good-for-value western meal

It's not hard to find this place; wherever you park your car within their carpark.

My unpleasant experience with them was the chicken teriyaki. It was not fully cooked and blood oozing in the center of the piece of chicken.

They took it back and it came out overcooked and dried.

i have been to this restaurant b4 with friends of 10. The only recommended one is the mushroom soup. Nothing else taste as good as the mushroom soup.

If I ever go there again,I'll order the mushroom soup only.
