Steamboat in Cameron

After the scrumptious dim sum breakfast, we travelled along the highway to our next destination; an escapade from the hot city weather to the highlands for some fresh and cool mountain air to spend the afternoon; willing time away before the wedding dinner in the evening.

Weather was cloudy in the state; which was pretty good for me as I was really bummed by the hot sun. In fact, there were even hints of tiny raindrops as we were about to reach Cameron and it was definitely a nice and chilly breeze when we wound down the windows. Though, I was feeling rather car-sick at that point:P

Jlo recommended steamboat for lunch in Cameron and he brought us to the Ringlet town; where he picked the O.K Tuck restaurant.

A rather interesting restaurant name; wonder whether they took it from one of the old TVB series which starred Wong Hei;)

I liked the buildings here...really English-like:)

(there were even fishballs, eggs, vermicelli, fish slices, fresh tong hou vege, etc which I did not manage to take pics of).
They offer a combination of the plain soup and also spicy tomyam for your selection.
We opted for both:)

Steamboat was definitely one of the best meals during chilly weathers especially in places like Cameron (one of the hilly areas in our country).
OK Tuck restaurant seem to attract lots of customer and besides steamboat, they also serve local dishes to go along with rice or noodles.
Not a bad place to try out as the price was pretty reasonable; summing up to RM115+ for 7 pax inclusive of drinks.

  2. Hi Cynthia, you should! It's really easy and fun, you just need to prepare a big pot of soup (cooked) and then prepare raw ingredients such as vege and seafood or poultry and cook them together at family gatherings:D
Especially fun and warm during cool weathers;)

  9. When I was young, I used to visit Cameron quite often. It always feels so warm and cozy to have steamboat while it's cold outside. I miss that so much!
