Be-earlieth Japanese Birthday Treat

Alright, I know I've made my resolution to update at least two posts each day, but for the past few days and this week, I must ask to be spared as I am in a happy mode as my birthday approaches!
Yes, it is my favorite month of the year and it is no surprise, as I am sure most of you named your birthday month your favorite month too:p

I have so many backdated posts; starting from Winter Solstice, Christmas, New Year, travel and party food to blog about but I am still going to bypass all of them and post my be-earlieth birthday celebrations/dinners/parties as yeah, I am in a self-obsessed mode now, LOL!:)

** This post is full of photos**

My lovely brother and parents, along with his gf gave me a be-earlieth treat with this Japanese meal at one of my most recent favorite Japanese restaurant; Sushi Zanmai at The Gardens.

This place is always crowded and there is always a queue outside the restaurant; regardless of which outlet you are at.
During peak hours, the wait could take up to 30 minutes long!

I never really believed in queuing for my food, honestly, but this restaurant is truly a gem to have an ever growing fan population.

We were lucky enough to have a place, thanks to my brother's gf who had made the arrangements earlier.

Oh my gosh, this has got to be the best thing I have ever tasted, and it just leaves that lingering taste long after the first bite and kept me going for more with my chopsticks!
I could eat this like, forever!:)

This is another of my favorite salad here, and a must-order whenever we are here!:)
Fresh sashimi served and tossed with the crunchy fresh lettuce leaves, cabbages and tomatoes.

I love the Wafu dressing; which is pretty much a concoction of sesame to make up the dressing sauce. Toss the Wafu dressing and this tastes heavenly!:)

If you've been at my blog long enough, you will know that I tend to order this at almost every Japanese meal!:p

This was another two types of sushi; with tuna and salmon in it, I think but I really couldn't remember

I enjoyed the meal, thanks to my wonderful family, the people who are always there for me and whom I could always count on.
My birthdays are never complete without them celebrating with me!:)

To my beloved mum and dad, Thank you for bringing me to this world, for without both of you, I would not be who I am today.

To my beloved brother, Thank you for always protecting and believing in me.

To my dearest hubby, Thank you for always being there and caring for me.

Last but not least, to my brother's gf, Thank you for your lovely present and special treat for my birthday..and to many more gatherings to come :)

  1. Eesh - not sure if I could bear waiting so long to get into a restaurant - I find popular restaurants always have the worst wait-staff... so arrogant and rude. Were they nice here? I think they often feel that even if they're rude, as long as they're popular they don't have to try hard since people are still going there regardless! Food looks good though!

    Happy Birthday month! :)
