My very first food-tasting and review invitation, in Penang, at the refurbished and new image of Ko-Fu Loft, located at the same spot and location of the used-to-be Food Loft.

**Non-Halal Post**

I can't describe how I felt when I first saw the email and replied yes.
My very first time meeting the other bloggers and also taking a step out of the virtual world (behind the screen of my computer) to the real world to make my appearance.

Of course, I must first thank Criz and Jian; of both Criz Bon Appetite and Cokeworld Citizen respectively who were so kind to include me in the invitation list. Thanks for thinking of me when you organized this!

And, most importantly, to Ko-Fu Loft! (Ms Alicia Ng and all the staffs) for inviting us bloggers to the review session and the great hospitality during our few crazy hours there.
It is an honor and my pleasure to be there, and to have my opportunity to have my first maiden attempt at food tasting followed by my personal review.

Ko-Fu Loft, in place of Food Loft has revamped a little on the interior design; adding a touch of Oriental motifs to their deco and the stalls.

Nothing of a major renovation to the place, but just enough to exude an Eastern atmosphere to the place.

In fact, the simplicity makes one feel at ease and peaceful in mind as you sit in for dining, and the wonderful view is more than enough to attract customers to this place after shopping for a few hours.

They have private dining areas; if you wish to indulge in the food with your own friends, you are separated by the proximity of other tables in this way

Ko-Fu Loft has brought a brand new identity with its arrival here; to present to you, the authentic array of Chinese appetizers and dim sum to main course and desserts

You will be left anticipating the taste of dim sum upon feasting your eyes on their raw materials, and admiring the chefs hard at work.

Most of the stalls still remain in the same place, but a short walk and view of the open-kitchen will tell you that this is no longer the old Food Loft, which serves fusion food.

Sniff sniff in the air, and take a look around you, everything here, from the pots of tea to the ducks hanging at the stalls, and the amount of meat on the wooden chopper board screams Chinese food in cooking!

The dim sum baskets seem to be focus of the theme as you step into Ko-Fu Loft; which must be their specialty items here (a thought which lingered on my mind when I saw these)

The chefs and cooks were all busy at work; it was definitely a busy Sunday afternoon and with 22 enthusiastic bloggers, everyone in the restaurant is kept scurrying back and forth from the kitchen to the customers' tables

Thanks to the management, we were given one of the best places in the loft; right in the center and overlooking the scenic Gurney Drive (not so scenic during the low tide period though!)

I love the idea of these little bird-cages to transport one's mind back to the olden days' concept of inn restaurants where the Chinese then pride in their homemade specialty dim sum and pao, to be served with a pot of tea amidst the shouts of the waiters holding a kettle of hot water, rushing to attend to each customer.
Definitely a memorable picture of a typical conservative Chinese restaurant!

True enough, we were quickly served a hot pot of tea by the waiters which they placed carefully on our table upon our group's arrival.

Plain Chrysanthemum tea (Kuk-Po in Cantonese) to go with the food we are about to taste

With a survey/feedback form each, we were definitely geared up for the session as we wait for the food to arrive.

The food were all placed on the separate tables, and soon we are back to assume our identities as all the bloggers begin their work on taking a good shot of the food.

To be continued...the pictures and review of the food in the next post...Stay tune...
