Food from home - Episode 1

*Beware of a biased post - my comments are based on my personal favoritism of the following food*

The thing I missed most when I am away from home besides my bedroom is my Mummy's cooking, who doesn't, anyway?

That's why it was such a delight whenever I am welcomed by the fabulous aroma of my favorite dishes and also the familiar clinking of the wok and the hustle bustle sounds from the kitchen.
Everyone's mummy is definitely the best cook, and so is mine!:) She definitely knows me best and I still credit it to her for being the patient one with my picky eats, it's a wonder how she kept me fed:D

Prawns, in the delectable sweet and sour with a hint of spiciness

It was also cooked with sliced ginger, garlic and onion slices - adding to the sweet taste of the sauce besides the succulent and fresh prawns

Yummy....I totally adore this!~

Bean curd with sliced fish cakes; cooked in fermented bean sauce

The bean curds were so soft and tender as you bite into it; amidst the hot vapour when it's served!~

Stir-fried leeks, carrots and onions with thin slices of fish cakes

Another favorite in the family; delightful!~

Stir-fried vegetables; I am not sure of this vege's name.
Hosted by RockYouPhotos.com
In Cantonese, they call it "Chin Chat" and in Hokkien, it's the "Ong Teh Chye" (literally translated as Emperor's Vegetables)

It's really soft and tasty; just like the spinach and I totally love it as well!~

Oh...for the love of homecooked food!!....:D
