Christmas Lunch @ Kenribbean

On Christmas Day itself; which was a very hot day (by the way), I brought my family to this Kenribbean Steak House I spotted in Gurney Drive area (behind McDonald's) for a Christmas Lunch. Since we are in Penang, we didn't cook as in previous years but instead decide to pamper my Mummy by having lunch out:)

The Steak House is a semi air-conditioned place whereby the couches were all located upstairs with coffee tables and bar stands.
Downstairs, you have to bear the spinning fan but with proper dining tables.

Initially we wanted to seat ourselves in the air-conditioned upper level but changed our minds when we noticed the low coffee tables which were not that conducive for our meal.

They offer set lunches priced at RM10.00- RM14.00 and you can also order ala carte from the menu.
All of us went for the set lunches; with our selection of drinks.
We welcomed the sight of these Iced Peach Tea

And the Iced Lemon Tea (wonder why the color is darker than the peach?)

Really refreshing with the super hot and glaring sun out there.

Mushroom soup for starters

A little diluted (disappointment to you creamy soup lovers:p)

The BBQ Chicken set (RM10)

Daddy definitely enjoyed the sauce and the chicken meat was tender for him:)

The portion was definitely not small either for RM10 and there was a generous serving of fries and their salad was dorned with raisins.

Fish & Chips (RM10)

Mummy mentioned that this was crispy and the fish was juicy and fresh inside.

I am guessing she really liked this as well:D

Fish Maryland (RM14)

Served with sausage and ham on top of the fried fish fillet (which was similar to the Fish&Chips)
I find it a little too crispy and slightly oily:p
I was more interested in the fish and the sausage and ham went to the others at the table:p

For the RM14 set, we get the mashed potato cake rather than the salad; since I don't like potatoes either, this goes untouched, LOL!

And with a side serving of boiled vegetables

My favourite cauliflowers, cherry tomatoes and snow peas

Chicken Gordon Bleu (RM14)

Gordon Bleu is typically a unique combination or composition of cheese and sausage/ham inside. Bro seemed to like this combination as well although it was rather filling for him:)

Fish Gordon Bleu (RM14)

Same goes for the fish; the same crispy fish fillet stuffed with cheese and ham

The set lunches were really reasonably priced and came at a medium to large portions (don't think that for lower price, they will give you smaller portion)
It was a very nice environment and I must say the staff were really friendly as well!:D
We enjoyed our family Christmas lunch:)

You can try it out; but it depends on your taste buds really!:D

  14. What a really nice idea, eating out on Christmas day (meaning at a restaurant). Here in the Caribbean it is such a fuss to eat home!
