Eighteen Cafe

Last Thursday, I met up with DearDear for lunch and we went to this particular cafe in Bayan Baru. It's a quaint little western cafe located in the Krystal Point area.
I have been here once with my mentor but I didn't take pictures back then.

The interior of the cafe; such a relief to be sheltered by the HOT sun out there which was glaring at us!

The menu...Black...a contemporary concept adopted in their design here:)

As I was waiting, I noticed this bottle of salt with beads of rice in it and I was wondering why they do that. DearDear then explained that it was for the purpose of moisture absorption. This can also prevent the salt from lumping.

They offer daily set lunches; and that include western sets, Asian and also pasta sets on their menu. It's kind of a fusion cafe with an Asian twist as well.

As usual, the set lunch started off with the bread and butter.

Then our soup came; the soup of the day was the Seafood chowder...

It was pretty creamy and milky and had a strong fishy smell. I did taste very tiny bits of fish in the soup.

Our food came; this is my Fish Fillet in Tahini Sauce...(RM17.90)

Presented in a designer style; the sauce was kinda creamy as well and there were mashed potatoes and also steamed long beans beneath the fish fillets piled on top of each other.

There were servings of tacos as condiments to the set as well; which DearDear tasted and mentioned it was too soft; fluffed out.

This was what DearDear had ordered; Seafood Linguini in Tom Yam sauce (RM21)

The plate looks huge to me; but there was certainly a generous serving of seafood which included prawns, squids, and mussels.

DearDear mentioned it was not bad; comparable to the one in Pastasia which we tried last round.

Tea which came with the set...

Dessert; chilled honey sea coconut with longan...

Chilled with ice cubes as well!

It was really refreshing on such a hot day:)

Total bill was about RM43; inclusive of taxes.
Food and environment here were not bad and the service was great as well. Staff here were friendly:)
