Everywhere was either closed or really packed to the brim!
It was really frustrating as well; crossing out one by one off the list as we drove around when we reached Tai Thong; a place I have not been going for so long.
Nevertheless, we were relieved and settled immediately for our breakfast.
It was crowded and it was like an amazing race getting these plates on our table...
Fishballs
Chee Cheong Fun (a favourite Hongkie breakfast made of flat rice noodles with sliced pork or shrimps in it)
Fried beansheet roll
There was even vegetables!! Fresh Hong Kong Choy Sum:)
Really crunchy and tasty!! *Crunch crunch*
Fried beancurd sheet dumplings
A bowl of dumplings in soup; one of their best-sellers here!
A bowl of fishballs in soup; especially for me since I am a fan of fishballs:)
One of the favourites for dim sum; Siew Mai (minced pork dumplings)
Har Gao (Shrimp dumplings)
Cuttlefish balls
Daddy's favorite; Marinated Pork Ribs
Another type of shrimp dumplings
A lot of food; and costs about RM40++ for this hearty meal!
Seriously, I must definitely remind myself not to think of Chinese breakfast during the last few days approaching Chinese New Year;)
So, you'll eat Nasi Kandar and fast food a few days before CNY?
ReplyDeleteChee Cheong Fun looks smooth and silky~ yummy!
ReplyDeleteI just had my dim sum fix last week. This post is not going to make me craving for it :P

ReplyDeletei keep forgetting that this place has got dim sum...must go try it and see..since i'm almost convinced that penang has no good dim sum places... :)
ReplyDeleteWooo...big big fishballs! I'm so hungry for those now.
ReplyDeleteNowadays not to hard to find Chinese food during CNY season. Once upon a time, this time of year will mean plenty of fast food, nasi kandar or Malay chap-fan for me.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a nice breakfast, the dim sum looks nice. We haven't been to Tai Thong for dim sum before.
ReplyDeletejeromefo, hehe...no comment, since I don't take it:p
ReplyDeletelingzie, this is one old dim sum cafe in Georgetown, personally it's not the best dim sum for me either:p
tigerfish, yaya...those big fishballs were the first that reached our table!! Hehee...it wasn't too bad:)
tummythoz, yeah....it is getting better these days actually compared to the olden days for CNY...hehehe:D Shouldn't complain much about the crowd anymore...hehe...:p
sugarbean, haha...it was nice for me since my family was already with me in Penang on CNY Eve...hehe:)
Btw, this Tai Thong is not from the Tai Thong group of restaurants but rather it was just one of the traditional and old Chinese dim sum restaurants in Penang town:)
