Dinner in Jinjang

Jinjang is a little town within Kepong which is home to majority of the Chinese community and the local business folks.
Its vicinity within Kepong makes it one of the "makan" (eating) hub for most of the locals; and you will be surprised that this place offers tasty and varied food with a reasonable price.

I was surprised myself as I did not really like dining in areas near the market or by the road; coz it just makes me feel uncomfortable (call me a brat or whatsoever:p)
I didn't manage to get a pic of the outlet; amazing how I never did know their name despite being there for a couple of times.
Anyway, since I am supposed to feature on food, these are a few notable dishes we've tried and think they're not too bad (note on the prices as well:)

Assam Fish (RM10)

This is the Fei Chow fish; red talapia which was steamed and then placed in the sour sauce cooked with the assam boi and there was a hint of lime sauce as well.

Served with angled beans and lady fingers and eggplant, this is a really appetizing dish.

Piping hot and sourish, it was yummy!~

Claypot Tofu(beancurd) with baby sprouts (RM8-10)

It was a lighter taste but served with a generous portion of vegetables; besides baby sprouts, there were also corn, carrots, sweet peas, mushrooms and shrimps.

Mixed Vegetables for RM7

Clams in sweet and sour sauce (RM10)

These were slightly larger clams; kind of oyster-like types and initially it was a little weird as we have never tried this type before but the sauce complimented it really well!~

Another type of tofu is this; the homemade tofu cooked with vegetables (RM7)

The beancurd used were the local plain beancurd; which they fried slightly and then served with the light tasting gravy topped with mushrooms, beans, etc.

For meat-lovers, you can try this Spare ribs (RM10)

A meal for four; with an average of 3-4 dishes will typically cost around Rm33-38 with a serving of fish, vegetables, squid/clam/mantis prawns, tofu range of dishes.
Their crabs only cost approximately RM22; pretty reasonably priced, ain't they?

Good for cost-saving during the current economy:D

**I will remember to snap a pic of the place and post it next round**
