November Birthday Celebration

Once again, this month, one of the colleagues in my group is celebrating her birthday and I was, as usual the organizer:D
Her birthday was last Friday and so, we celebrated with her over lunch at a vegetarian restaurant (as she is a vegetarian).
I had checked up several vegetarian restaurants in Penang and finally called up this Lily's Vegetarian restaurant in Macalister Road.
Turns out, the birthday gal loved this place and it was one of her most frequented place!!~
So much for pure luck and coincidence!:D
Nevertheless, she was pleased with my selection but voiced her concern over the guys preference (none of them are vegetarian..hehe:)
Anyway, besides those who had meetings/urgent matters, the rest accepted the invitation obligingly.

This restaurant interestingly has 2 sections/levels; the first level serving only ala carte and fast food while the one on top which was air-conditioned serves the authentic cuisine dishes and also course sets for events/celebrations.
Since I called in the morning to make reservations, they led us upstairs.

We opted for the ala carte dishes and Western food and they were hesitant as those were served at the lower level downstairs.
However, they obliged as we were customers and thank God, they didn't give us trouble like Secret Recipe:p

Everyone ordered their own set and also a couple more of ala carte dishes for sharing.
They were all too hungry and I didn't have the heart to make them pause for me to take pics:p
My boss was enjoying his 'Grandma's porridge' :D

This was my Ice-blended Soursop:)

Nicely presented; but too icy and too sweet for me:p

Sean had the Black Peppered Steak and he kept commenting how similar it tasted in comparison to actual poultry:p

Clearly, the guys were all rather fascinated and excited about the prospect of having vegetarian food and were game to try anything:D

This was the vegetarian fish fillet which was deep fried and battered golden brown in some crust. Too deep fried and hard for me though :( It tasted dry too:(

The Carrot Cake...

There's 2 layers all full of carrot slices and the upper layer was slightly heavier in taste and sweeter (probably drenched in more flavouring)

The cake was fresh and everyone just loved it!!:D

That's the last birthday for this year...and everyone was relieved..haha,coz it burnt a hole in their pockets during each birthday celebration:p
Now everyone is asking me when is my own birthday after all these birthday organizing I have done:)
