Birthday Celebration at Kim Gary's

One of my jee mui celebrated her birthday about 3 weeks ago and they organized a lunch gathering on a Friday in honour of her birthday:D
(I must apologize for the dark-coloured with shades of orange in the following pictures as the lighting was not too good and I did not turn on my flash:p)

Birthday gal picked Kim Gary's restaurant in Gurney Plaza (or was it picked by another gal?). I recalled birthday gal was thinking about Siam Express but think she was outvoted...haha, all for a birthday gal's honour:p

Kim Gary's just another of the chic Hongkie cafes (Char Chan Teng) which invaded Malalysia a couple of years ago and took Malaysians by storm with the trendy and much-loved Hongkie comfort food and cuisine we have seen over the years in those popular TVB series.

As expected, this place is definitely running brisk with business during lunch hour on Fridays where everyone get that extra hour of break.

I have always loved this drink from Kim Gary's; the Lemon with Aloe Vera drink (RM4.90) which never failed to refresh me with its invigorating cold taste.

Big Sis Jennifer ordered the hot Yinyong tea or coffee, I can't really remember though.

Birthday Gal ordered the iced YinYong drink (which is a famous concoction of milk and tea or coffee) made famous by the Hongkies.

A bowl of hot tomato broth (Loh Soon Tong in Cantonese) for big sis as she always had been fond of the thick and tasty broth of tomatoes served here.

And of course, one will never miss the usual order of French toast when dining in a Hongkie-styled "Char Chan Teng" which was this buttered toast bread. My friends never fail to order this everywhere they go which serves this from Old Town to Kim Gary's.

Priced at RM4.20, the gals really enjoyed it a lot. PickyEater is not a fan and therefore, I can't comment on how it tasted other than the constant yums and thumbs-up by my friends...haha:D

I had this; the One Bite Snack Fish Fillet (RM6.90).

For 7 pieces of tiny fish fillets laden with thick creamy corn broth and also served with sweet corn and broccoli and cucumber pieces, this was definitely more than filling to insatiate my appetite! It was more than overwhelming and I can't take creamy stuffs too..and this was like one of a million in the menu which had fish (something I eat). I felt a little sick after the meal though and my gal friends helped me to finish the remaining pieces:p

Jennifer ordered this plate of Fried Pork with Spaghetti.

Birthday gal ordered this plate of Paste Shrimp Fried Rice (RM8.50)

I am not sure of the total bill as the rest turned up late and I remembered feeling sick after those creamy stuffs.
I am just really sensitive and it's nothing wrong with the food...poor tummy:(
