Go fine Japanese

The recent G Hotel is home to a few decent restaurants in Penang which offers diversity to the meaning of international cuisine.
One of the gems here is this Japanese restaurant; Miraku which sports a clean and neat dining environment; located on the 1st floor of G Hotel.

At the entrance, near to the desk, one is greeted with the wide selection of Japanese rice wine and alcoholic beverages on the shelves.

There is one thing about Japanese restaurant, they are always arranged in a manner that just seems neat and presentable. This is a view of the Teppanyaki corner.

The dining tables are tucked neatly in corners with partitions to provide privacy to each visiting customer.

Prices are reasonable and they offer a wide variety of lunch to dinner bento sets to ala cartes such as sushi, temaki, teppanyaki dishes.

We were served with the appetizer which was marinated tuna chunks dipped in sweet soy sauce.

I find this really nice and the tuna were really fresh. The sweet soy sauce was a lighter version of the normal teriyaki or toriyaki sauce and actually added taste to the tuna chunks besides providing the tuna I really loved this fishy appetizer:D

We ordered this Mixed Vegetables (Yasai) as one of our sides. Don't mind me, I am a lover of vegetables and seafood and this is what I always love to order or can eat:D

For RM10, this was a seriously huge plate of vegetables! I think the portion was even bigger than most Chinese restaurants I have been to for the same price.
The vegetables were an abundance of cabbages, onions, bean sprouts, mushrooms, snow peas, carrots. However, I find this dish slightly oily and it was kinda hard to pick at the vegetables, me being the pickyeater:)

Much as I like vegetables, this is one salad I dislike...potatoes are never a friend of mine:p

The salmon shioyaki was a slightly more dry version as compared to others I have tried before. I find this on the average only as the salmon fish was not exactly tender.

This jelly-like dessert actually had a whiff of watermelon scent. It tasted light and cooling:) Definitely something unique.

I find this restaurant rather pleasant and the ambience is quite nice as well which even gave me the impression a fine dining restaurant for Japanese.
It is worth a try as the food here was pretty reasonably priced to me; however, again, that depends on personal preference as well, right :)
